It’s been I think a year since I last did a proper update post on the website. I had gotten into a nice rhythm of board game posts, reviews, and design updates. But there are a few things that I thought would be worth bringing up.
Book Reviews
I haven’t done one of these in a while because honestly, they don’t generate website traffic. Amazon reviews are about the only written reviews online that people care about. But these are fun to write, so I think I’ll be doing these again but in a smaller, more straightforward format, something less time-consuming to write. Books I’ve read recently:
- The Terror by Dan Simmons
- The October Country by Ray Bradbury
- Revenge by Yoko Ogawa
Board Game Articles
Another thing that slowed down are the board game articles. Obviously, the periods of quarantine (among other things) have made gaming difficult. We’ve played online, but after a point, I had done first impressions of almost everything, and I want to get back to the table to replay some things and put together full reviews again. In-person gaming should be back soon and reviews shortly after.
Winds of the North
I had problems with a hard drive that prevented getting any work done this past week, but that has at least all been settled for now. I recently sent an update on progress to mailing list subscribers: Encounters are all pretty much re-balanced, but there are some events, caves, and islands that still need looking at. Once all of that is done, then comes time to put it all back into the PDF with some other reorganizing and tweaks. Forward progress is still progress even if it takes a while.
That’s all for now, so until next time!
